Spiked Octahedron within Openwork Octahedron within a Truncated Octahedron and Openwork Sphere

Custom tools and jig to produce this piece.

Inspiration for this original piece was taken from the website of Robert Bosco. A challenging piece to make as the wood had bark inclusions and could have fell apart. also the openwork Octahedron is oversize extending to the surface of the Truncated Octahedron. There are threaded steel pins inside the spikes so the ebony finials could be screwed in position.
